Video Reel

These are a few of my recent projects. They range from 3-5 minute promotional videos to 30 second TV commercials.

Hi, Enjoying your content. Curious as to what program you’re using for video editing.

    Hi there,

I read your Brutally Honest review of the Blackmagic 4k Production Camera. I’m thinking of saving up for a Blackmagic 4K Production Camera myself. I’d quite like to get it, but after reading your review, some of the caveats you mentioned have got me thinking twice about getting this now.

If I purchased an Atomos Shogun 4k Recorder for my existing camera, I could in theory achieve the exact same ProRes 10 bit look of the Blackmagic without having to buy a Blackmagic camera system at all. Could this be a possible alternative that could work?

    FYI, I own a Canon XC10.

Also, I wondered if you could tell me how do you edit the Blackmagic? How do you insert the SSD drives onto your computer? Is a 2.5GHZ Mac PowerBook fast enough to edit Blackmagic?

    Thanks for your help!

    Kind regards

Hi David, I would definitely not buy the Blackmagic Production Camera at this point. It was pretty good when it came out a couple of years ago, but Sony and the other major manufacturers have surpassed it. And, to be fair, I never shoot in ProRes 10 bit on the BMPC … I usually shoot in ProRes 422(LT).

Regarding editing: I run on Adobe Creative Suite, so I edit in Premiere Pro. To read the drives, I use an inexpensive SSD dock that plugs into a USB port on my iMac. You could easily do the same on a PowerBook.
