Hi…i went through ur site, n it has helped me immensely in a lot of places..i am an amateur…i just wanted to know how would you light a party scene with the use of lot of colors of would u use them randomly..i am not too sure if i have really made myself clear with this question, but if u were to shoot a discotheque scene with a trance kind of music playing in the background and the visual should seem heavily based on lights and the different colors of lights…

Thanks for reading, Anjalika! The easiest way to shoot a club scene like you’re talking about would be with programmable stage lights – the kind musicians use. They cycle through different colors and spin around automatically, so they create a hectic, high-energy look. I would position them up high, shooting TOWARDS the camera. You would be filming towards the shadow side of the people, and the moving people, plus the moving lights, would give the scene a lot of interest.
