One of the easiest ways to save time in editing is to keep track of what you’ve shot, while you’re shooting it. I made this shot log form a while ago. I print out a stack of them, and use them to keep track of my good takes. Then, when I’m editing, I can just look at the shot log and go directly to the best takes without having to watch everything again. This is a real time-saver when you have to edit in a hurry. It also works just as well for photo shoots as video.
